visited eric at the bike shop the other day and he was working on this bike that was covered in mold. how does a bike even get that way?
I bring seamus over to eric's every once in awhile so he gets some alone time free from the dogs. he pretends to hate the dogs, but I think he actually loves having something to torture. my old roommate had a cat and seamus had a great time using her as a toy/punching bag. he acted like he hated her, but now that she's not around anymore I think he misses her a lot. I'd get him a little buddy to play with but having two cats on your own is just a nightmare.
he's now claimed underneath eric's couch for his own.
I made these curtains in high school and hung them in our upstairs bathroom. they're still there!
maggie is so cute but she's wrong inside. she's a Staffordshire terrier and was a mother at a puppy mill before we got her. when her body couldn't reproduce anymore, she was dumped on the side of a road. she's very picky about who she likes, and I think the reason we were able to foster her was that she was too sick to be afraid of us. over a period of a few months, we nursed her back to health and realized that we couldn't let her go! we adopted her and now she's my sister's buddy.
people are always afraid of Lila, I think because she is large and dark and she always looks bored, but she's actually the best of our dogs! great with people, great with other dogs, very calm. she's definitely the favorite. she's getting old now and we'll all be heartbroken when (IF) she dies...
HOPSLAM IS BACK. this is one of my favorite beers. Bell's does a lot of great stuff--I would love to visit the brewery in michigan. their Java Stout is one of my favorite coffee stouts that I've tried so far--it pretty much tastes like strong black coffee mixed with a stout. two of my favorite tastes mixed together in one delicious brew.
Hopslam is a SUPER hoppy beer brewed with honey. nice and bitter, and 10%! you only need a couple! we've been waiting all year for it to come back...we'll need to stockpile some...
smells good too.
LOOKS GOOD TOO
actually, part of the reason I love Hopslam so much is that it reminds me of last year, when eric and I first started hanging out. we were both at the bar after bike polo and we both happened to get Hopslam...it became a tradition for us to drink Hopslam at the bar after polo. we were so sad when the season ended.
bike polo and Hopslam...the two things that initially brought us together! it's so bizarre to think that we've been together for almost a year. I've always had trouble making friends, so it was/is weird for me to have the same friends for a long period of time. it was always even weirder for me to consider myself able to keep a relationship for a long time, but here we are still going strong and getting better each day.
I'm super lucky that I get to hang out with such an awesome dude every day and I really couldn't imagine my life without him. I hope we get to celebrate the Coming of Hopslam for many, many Januarys to come!
first we loved Hopslam, then we loved each other. thanks, Bell's!
