the everyday, march 12, kind of

tuesday, march 12, 2013.

today's post will be a bit different. the eric and I went hiking at starved rock, which I have been to many times, but never during winter and never with eric!

I took a ton of photos and then my camera died halfway through, so there is really no way to decipher which photos are the hourly ones and which aren't. I was good earlier in the day though.

here's a bunch of my favorites.

hiking socks. for the hiking, duh.

cold and snowing. perfect hiking weather, huh?

here's where I lost track.

it started snowing at one point. I thought it would be awful--the snow, the mud, etc.--but it was actually nice. I am officially a fan of hiking in the winter.

except eric kept walking/slipping through the mud to get better views of the canyons. I was scared he'd slip over the cliff!

this post is starting to look like an advertisement for duck boots. or mission workshop backpacks.

I don't own any "bad weather" boots except for a pair of knockoff uggs that I hate and only wear when the weather is desperately bad. I wore my favorite and only boots. very slippery. probably a mistake.

yeah yeah, I know. when did I get so cheesy? whatever. I disgust myself too.

there are some more on eric's camera that I will post later. after the hike, we went bowling with some fellow Dandies! 

today we are headed up to milwaukee with some friends for the night to tour the lakefront brewery, visit some bike shops, and just hang out. it should be fun--I have never been to milwaukee before! my mom loves hot weather so whenever we vacation, we always go south and west. it's been fun visiting some northern cities lately since I do not share the same love of the warmth! if it could be between 60 and 75 degrees all the time I would be a happy lady.
